About me
My name is Benjamin H.P Bui. I studied Civil Engineering at Ho Chi Minh city University of Technology (Vietnam), where I obtained my B.Eng with class honors (2/300) in 2008. One year later, I got the M.Eng at INSA de Lyon, working on the behavior of reinforced concrete structures strengthened by Carbon Fiber Reinforced-Polymer (CFRP) layers under the supervision of Prof. Ali Limam. In 2013, I obtained my Ph.D at University of Grenoble Alpes under the direction of Prof. Frédéric Dufour, Dr. Vincent Richefeu and Prof. François Faure, working on the multiscale approach of concrete structure failure. After a temporary position as lecturer at Joseph Fourier University in 2014, I joined the Legato team of Prof. Stéphane Bordas at University of Luxembourg for a postdoc about error control for real-time surgical simulations, in direct collaboration with the MIMESIS team (Inria) in Strasbourg led by Dr. Stéphane Cotin.
Later, I was working on goal-oriented a posteriori error estimation for hyperelastic contractile models applied to clinical biomechanics. Grant from the Agence Maths Entreprises (AMIES) and partnership with Franz Chouly (University of Franche-Comté, Besançon) and Marek Bucki (TexiSense, Grenoble)
I am now at Ansys, Inc. and work on the Discovery Live project, particularly on topology optimization problems.
